Salton Inc. Recalls Electric Toasters Due to Fire Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. This recall involves the chrome two-slice electric toasters sold under the following brands: Farberware (model # FCT200 or FCT100), Hoffritz (model # HZT2 and HZT2M), and Russell Hobbs (model #RH2MT). The brand name and model number are printed on a plate located on the underside of the toaster. |

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Royal Appliance, of Glenwillow, Ohio. is voluntarily recalling about 20,000 Dirt Devil® Sweeper Vac™ vacuum cleaners. The vacuum’s rotor can lock and overheat during use causing a smoke and fire hazard. |
CPSC, Exmark Announce Recall of Lazer Z Zero Turn Radius Riding Lawn Mowers
Hazard: Due to the location of the fuel line on the Lazer Z EFI riding mowers a hole can develop resulting in a fuel leak that could present a fire hazard. |

Hazard: The recalled batteries can short-circuit and erupt with force or emit excessive heat, posing a burn hazard to consumers. |
CPSC, Verizon Wireless Announce Recall of Counterfeit Cell Phone Batteries
Hazard: Some LG-branded TM-510 batteries may be counterfeit and susceptible to overcharging, especially if used with a non-LG charger. LG Infocomm U.S.A. Inc. states that these are counterfeit LG-branded batteries, which do not contain a safety device in the circuitry to prevent overcharging. In turn, the counterfeit batteries can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to users. |

Announce Recall of Gas FurnacesWASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the manufacturer named below, today announced voluntary recalls of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Hazard: These furnaces can overheat, causing heat-exchanger cracking, burn-through and, in extreme cases, furnace wrapper burn-through. This can lead to heating and possible burning of the drywall and other combustibles adjacent to the furnace, which poses a fire and smoke hazard to consumers. |
CPSC, CFM Corporation Announce Recall to Repair Vermont Castings Five-Burner Barbeque Grills
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), CFM Corporation, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada is voluntarily recalling about 12,500 five-burner Vermont Castings barbeque grills. Gas leak and fire hazard. The burner tubes may not fit fully into the gas valves. If a consumer pulls on the console, the metal may flex and the gas valves may disconnect from the burners, releasing gas and creating a fire risk that could cause injury and property damage. |

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Black Diamond Equipment Ltd., of Salt Lake City, Utah. is voluntarily recalling about 1,000 Soliras Headlamp Lithium Ion Batteries. The headlamp battery may overheat, posing a burn or fire hazard to users. |
CPSC, Bilt-Safe Technologies Announce Recall of Electric Blankets
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Bilt-Safe Technologies Inc., of Erwin, Tenn. is voluntarily recalling 60,000 (including 13,720 sold to consumers) electric blankets. When the temperature controller on the blanket is reset multiple times or the blanket is folded or covered with additional blankets, the blanket can overheat. This can result in smoldering and melting, posing a burn hazard to consumers. |
CPSC, General Binding Corp. Announce Recall of Pouch Laminators
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), General Binding Corp., (“GBC”) of Northbrook, Ill. is voluntarily recalling about 34,600 HeatSeal™Pouch Laminators. Improper wiring at the heating coil could cause the pouch laminators to overheat and become a fire hazard. |
CPSC, Petit Bateau Announce Recall of Children’s Bathrobes
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Petit Bateau, of Millburn, N.J. is voluntarily recalling about 2,700 children’s bathrobes. These robes fail to meet the children’s sleepwear flammability standards, posing a risk of burn injury to children due to the possible ignition of the garment. |
CPSC, Aloha Housewares Inc. Announce Voluntary Recall of Radiant Heaters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Aloha Housewares Inc., of Arlington, Texas. is voluntarily recalling about 30,000 Aloha radiant heaters. Recessed thermal protector may cause a fire hazard if heater is left on while covered by a blanket or similar item. |
CPSC, Maytag Corp. Announce Recall of Jenn-Air Gas Cooktops
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Maytag Corp., of Newton, Iowa is voluntarily recalling about 1,170 Jenn-Air downdraft gas cooktops. The recalled cooktops have switches located too close to the gas tubing leading to the grill burner. Electrical arcing can cause the tubing to leak gas and ignite, resulting in a fire hazard to consumers. |
